Blogging is one of the most trending content marketing strategies in 2019. Blogging is one of the most crucial parts of your overall SEO strategy, and it also helps to drive traffic to your website. WordPress is a content management system which started its journey as a blogging platform. You can quickly add a blog post when you are using WordPress. On this blog, I will show you how you can add a new blog post on WordPress.
Step 1: You need to go to your website’s backend or for WordPress; it’s known as wp-admin. Wp-admin is the universal login for WordPress website. Suppose your website is www.example.com then you need to type the URL as www.example.com/wp-admin.
Step 2: Now, you need to select the author on which you want to publish the blog post-login with any user account which has at least editor access.
Step 3: On your dashboard, you will find a tab called posts. You need to click on tab posts to add a new blog post. Though there are few other ways, it’s good to know the overall process.
Step 4: Once the new window opens, you will find a button called Add New. Click on the Add New button to add a new blog post.
Step 5: The next page which will load there, you will see the backend information of the blog posts. First, start by adding the blog title.
Step 6: Then, you will need to add the blog category and tags or meta tags. Make sure you provide the proper category and tags to your blog posts, which perfectly portray the blog topic.
Step 7: Add a cover image to your blog, which is known as feature image. Select an image which is 2:1 ratio though it will depend on the theme you are using. Click on the set featured images.
Step 8: Edit your SEO information by clicking on the snippet preview. You need to set a proper keyword and also provide the meta description. This will SEO optimize your blog post.
Step 9: Once you are done with the information, you need to save it. Now you will see a button called Save draft under the publish tab. Click on Save draft.
Step 10: There is a tab called Frontend Editor. To add to text and image, you need to go to the frontend if your blog. Click on frontend Editor.
Step 11: After you click on front end editor there, you will see a button called Add Element. To add different contents like text and an image or a video, you need to click on add element.
Step 12: If you want to add texts to your blog post, you need to click on text block. Click on Text Block.
Step 13: You can also add images to your blog post. Click on add element and click on images. You can either upload a new image or select an image from the library.
Step 14: When you are done with adding all the contents, you will see a button at the top named publish. This will publish the blog post on your website and set live.
