There are few tools and plugins by which you can easily optimize your blog posts. Today we will learn how you can SEO optimize your blog posts using Yoast SEO plugin.
Step 1: You need to go to your ‘website’s backend or for WordPress; ‘it’s known as wp-admin. Wp-admin is the universal login for WordPress website. Suppose your website is www.example.com then you need to type the URL as www.example.com/wp-admin.
Step 2: After you log in, you will land on your dashboard. Now you have to make sure that you log in as admin. It is essential to log in as admin as only the admin has editing access over the users. Different roles can be assigned to different users on WordPress.
Step 3: On your dashboard, you will find a tab called Posts. On this tab, you will find all the posts you have published on your website. Now you need to click on the posts tab.
Step 4: A new window will open, and on this window, you will all the posts of your WordPress blog. You need to select one post which you want to optimize.
Step 5: Now, you need to edit the blog. SEO optimization is a backend task. To optimize it, you need a plugin. I have selected Yoast SEO to optimize my blog post. If you do not have the plugin installed, I suggest you install it plugin.
Step 6: The first thing you need to do is set a focus keyphrase. A focus keyphrase is a keyword which represents your entire blog post, and that keyword must also be present on the blog title and meta descriptions. Make sure you select the right focus keyphrase.
Step 7: To edit the title of your blog post and also meta description, you need to click on snippet preview.
Step 8: Now you give a proper SEO title for your blog, and you have to make sure that the below the tab is green.
Step 9: Now you need to provide meta description to your blog post. The meta description is the text that appears on the search engine. Your meta description must have the focus keywords and the title you gave to your blog. The ideal length of the meta description is 150 characters.
Step 10: You are all set, and all the segments are showing green you need to click on update. This will update the blog and save all the information.
