We all encountered the windows blue screen death right? For WordPress, it is known as we call it white screen death. Don’t get frightened by the name your website is not dead it just has gone missing for a while but we will get your website back don’t worry. The problematic part with white screen death is that you don’t have an error message which points out where the issue lies. 
How to fix it:
There are few ways to solve the white screen death and you need to do it step by step. If one solution didn’t work move on to the next one. 
1.Increase the PHP memory limit:  Decreases in the PHP memory limit may result in white screen death. Just increase the PHP memory limit in WordPress. This will solve white screen death most of the time. To increase the memory limit you need to edit a file which is wp-config.php. You can find this file in your website’s root directory. All you need to do is follow the same steps you followed the with the .htaccess file and copy this code: ini_set(‘memory_limit’,’16M’);
If you can’t increase the memory then your hosting provider does not allow you to increase the memory, in this case, contact your hosting provider.  
2. Disable your plugins: Faulty plugin installation can be another reason for white screen death you need to manually deactivate all the plugins and activate them one by one to find one if any plugin is the root of this issue. 
3. Go back to default theme: Your theme can be the reason behind it as well. Most people experience this issue when they try a new theme for their website. You need to switch back to your default theme from WordPress backend. 
5. WordPress sidebar below content:
This issue explains how the sideboard of your website is not near the main content but moves below the main content. When you see that it can be quite disturbing and you will start to blame your website’s theme for it. Don’t curse your theme there is a different reason for it.
How to fix it: 
Div tags are the main culprit here you may have opened or closed too many div tags. The div tag are small codes which looks like <div></div>. If you open or close too many in your HTML code it can destroy your layout. You can use HTML validator to find out the issues.
6. 404 error:
Error 404 or  404 error is another common WordPress issue the name depends on which browser you use. Where you or any visitors try to access your website, your browser sends a query to the web server and gets back with information which includes an HTTP header. The HTTP Header contains location tags which clarify the browser about what happened as you or any of your visitors send a request.

7. Connection timed out error:
If it requires a long time moment load your website and you end up getting an error that is not accessible, your connection has timed out. This just takes place if your website tries to do more than the server can manage. This is a common error faced by users who have shared hosting with limited resources. 
How to fix it:
The most common issues can be fixed by doing the same things as plugin deactivation, increasing memory limit and switch back to the default theme. We have already talked about it. Follow the steps again one by one. If one does work then move on to the next one.

8. Unable to access the admin area:

The blessing of using WordPress is it can auto-update the core version. It’s always a good idea to feature a few more blog posts with any blog you publish as the users might click on the posts which are related to the blog they are reading. There are few ways to do that but using a plugin is the easiest one. On this blog, I will show you how you can display related posts by the same author in WordPress.
Step 1: First you need to go to your website’s backend and for WordPress websites, it is known as wp-admin. You need to add /wp-admin after your website’s URL. For example, if your website’s URL is www.example.com then you need to type www.example.com/wp-admin. This is the universal admin login page for any WordPress website.
Step 2: After you reach your website’s backend dashboard you need to make sure you have logged in as admin. Only the admin has access over all the information on your website including adding or removing any new functionality. As we will display related posts by the same author in WordPress using a plugin, it is essential that you login with an admin account or use any user which has admin capabilities.
Step 3: As I said we will do it with a plugin, so to do that you need to click on the plugin tab. If you want to add or remove any plugin you need to click on this plugin.
Step 4: On the plugin tab you will find a button called ‘Add New’. To add a new plugin you need to click on this plugin. The button is placed on the top left side of your screen.
Step 5: You will see some featured plugin is there. On the middle right side of your screen, you will see a search box. Type ‘Similar posts’ on the box and install and activate the plugin. I have already installed the plugin.
Step 6: Now click on the setting tab. This tab has very sensitive pieces of information so make sure you proceed with caution.
Step 7: After you click on the settings tab a few sub-tabs will slide down. After activating the plugin a new tab will be here which is ‘Similar Posts’. Click on similar posts.
Step 8: When you are in the general settings of the similar posts tab just change the last option which is ‘Match the current post’s author’ from no to yes.
Step 9: Click on the save settings and this will unable showing related posts by the same author.
Step 10: The third settings options for this plugin is placement. Click on this tab to set where to show the related posts. 
Step 11: Just activate the output after the post from no to yes. This will place the related posts at the end of every blog an author has written.
Step 12: You are all set now just click on save settings one more time to finish displaying related posts by the same author in WordPress.

Step 1: To add an animated GIF in WordPress first you need to go to the backend of your website which is known as wp-admin. To reach the backend you need to add /wp-admin after your website’s URL. For example, if your website’s URL is www.example.com then you need to write www.example.com/wp-admin. This is the universal login page for every WordPress website.
Step 2: Now that you have logged in to your website’s backend you need to make sure one simple thing which is you must log in with your admin id or any user with editing capabilities. There are different users role in WordPress like the admin, editor, author and so on. Only the admin has access over adding or removing new functionality to a WordPress site. To add a privacy policy to your WordPress website you need to add or edit a WordPress post or create a new post. To able to do that you must use your admin login credentials or any user id which has editor access.
Step 3: On your dashboard, you will find a tab called posts. This tab has all the posts you have published or drafted on your WordPress site. Click on the posts tab.
Step 4: You can either create a new post or add the GIF to an existing post. Let’s show you how to add the GIF in a new post.
Step 5: After you click on the add new post you will be taken to a new window where you will find a button called Add Media. Click on add media.
Step 6: You can either select a GIF from the ones you uploaded or you can upload a new one by click on upload files.
Step 7: There is a button at the middle of the page which is select File. Click on select files to upload the GIF from your pc.
Step 8: When the GIF is done uploading pay attention to attachment display settings and select the full size.
Step 9: Just under the attachment display settings you will find a button which says insert into posts. Click on this button to add the GIF to your post.
Step 10: Finally, to check if the GIF is working ok or not click on the preview button. This will show you a preview of the post. If you followed the steps I have described your GIF should work properly.     
GIFs are bigger in size comparing to images and it can slow your website down if you add quite a few. So make sure you add an optimal number of GIFs in your WordPress website.

It’s really hard to figure out what theme a website is using unless you have vast knowledge over WordPress themes. But using a few tricks and tips you can easily find out which theme any particular website is using. On this blog, I will show you how you can find out which WordPress theme a site is using.  
Step 1: First you need to open your browser and type visit the website which you want to find out the theme. You can just stumble upon a website so we will just pretend that I just found the website.
Step 2: When you are on the website you just need to copy the website URL from the browsers URL bar.
Step 3:  Now you need to search for a website on google. On the search bar type ‘isitWP’.
Step 4: You need to click on the first link that appears on the search result. You can also type the URL: www.isitwp.com.
Step 5: Now paste the website link on the shown box. 
Step 6: Click on analyze website button.
Step 7: Scroll down and you will find out the theme details.
Step 8:  If you scroll further down you will also find out plugin details as well.

How to add a background image to WordPress site 0

WordPress websites are known for their high customizability features. Adding a background to your WordPress website can make your website look more aesthetic and more engaging. On this blog, I will show you how you can change the background image of the WordPress website.
Step  1: To add a background image to your WordPress website, first you need to go to your WordPress website’s backend which is known as Wp-admin. To reach the backend you need add /wp-admin after your website’s URL. For example, if your website’s URL is www.example.com you need to write www.example.com/wp-admin.
Step 2: Once you login you need to make sure one thing that you must log in with your admin account. Changing the backend image requires administration permission. So make sure you use you admin ID to log in or use any ID which has admin capabilities assigned. 
Step 3: On your dashboard, you will find a tab called ‘Appearance’. Click on the appearance tab. This tab has all the information about the themes you use on your WordPress website.
Step 4: After you click on Appearance a few other tabs will open up below the appearance tab. You will see a sub-tab called background. Click on background sub-tab.
Step 5: When you click on the background tab you will be asked to select a background image. There is a button called ‘Select Image’. Click on ‘Select Image’ button.
Step 6: Now you are on your image gallery tab and you can select an image which you have already uploaded on your WordPress website.
Step 7: If you want to upload a new image then you need to click on the button beside Media Library which is ‘Upload Files’. Click on upload files.
Step 8: Its time to select the file you want to upload. You need to save the file on your desktop and choose the file clicking on the select file option from the middle of your screen. Click on ‘Select files’
Step 9: Once the file you have chosen done uploading you need to select that image by clicking on choosing image button at the bottom right side of your screen.
Step 10: It is time for positioning the images. It’s quite a simple task just click on the arrow button and a preview will be shown. Select the position which fits best.
Step 11: Just below the image position you will find the image size option. You can keep the original image or make it fit the screen or fill the screen.
Step 12: You can now publish the image by clicking on the publish button which is at the top left side of your screen. This will set the background on your live site.

Widgets on WordPress add more functionality and make your WordPress website more user-friendly. There a few areas where you can add widgets in WordPress theme. Adding more widgets can make your website look clumsy and not to mention it can slow your website down. On this blog, I will show you how you can disable unwanted widgets in WordPress.
Step 1: Disabling unwanted widgets in WordPress will make your blog more user-friendly and not to mention it will increase the loading time. To disable unwanted widgets in WordPress, first you need to go to the backend of your WordPress website. To reach the backend you need to add /wp-admin after your website’s URL. This is the universal login for page for every WordPress website.
Step 2: After you log in, you just need to make sure an important thing which is you must log in with your admin id. As we will disable unwanted widgets in your WordPress website with a plugin, it’s a must that you login with your admin credentials. Only the admins have access over adding or removing any new functionality. There are also different users roles rather than the admin id so you need to log in with any user ID which has administrative access.
Step 3: First you need to add a new plugin. To do that you need to click on the plugin tab from your dashboard. This tab has all the information about the plugins you have installed on your WordPress website. So click on the plugin tab.
Step 4: When you click on the plugin tab a new window will open up and there at the top you will find a button called Add New. Click on this button to add a new plugin to your WordPress website.
Step 5: You will be taken to a new window where you will find a few featured plugins. On the middle right side of your screen, you will find a search option. Type ‘Widget Disable’ on the search bar and install the shown plugin and activate.
Step 6: On your dashboard, you will find a tab called the Appearance. This tab has all the information about your website’s theme.
Step 7: When you click on the Appearance tab you will be taken to themes. A few more tab will open up below the settings tab. When you activate the plugin a new subtab will appear. The name of the subtab is ‘Disable Widget’. 
Step 8: The new window will show you all the sidebar widgets on your WordPress website just select the widget you want to disable. Stay extra careful as you don’t want to disable any important widgets.
Step 9: Right after you are done choosing widgets just simply click on Save Changes. This will disable the selected widgets from the sidebar.
Step 10: Now you need to click on dashboard widgets if you want to disable the widgets from your dashboard.
Step 11: Again the new window will show you all the dashboard widgets on your WordPress website just select the widget you want to disable.
Step 12: After you are done choosing widgets just simply click on Save Changes. This will disable the selected widgets from the dashboard.
Widgets are important part of your website when used effectively. Too much of any is bad so always make sure you disable the unused widgets.
