It’s always a good idea to feature a few more blog posts with any blog you publish as the users might click on the posts which are related to the blog they are reading. There are few ways to do that but using a plugin is the easiest one. On this blog, I will show you how you can display related posts by the same author in WordPress.
Step 1: First you need to go to your website’s backend and for WordPress websites, it is known as wp-admin. You need to add /wp-admin after your website’s URL. For example, if your website’s URL is www.example.com then you need to type www.example.com/wp-admin. This is the universal admin login page for any WordPress website.
Step 2: After you reach your website’s backend dashboard you need to make sure you have logged in as admin. Only the admin has access over all the information on your website including adding or removing any new functionality. As we will display related posts by the same author in WordPress using a plugin, it is essential that you login with an admin account or use any user which has admin capabilities.
Step 3: As I said we will do it with a plugin, so to do that you need to click on the plugin tab. If you want to add or remove any plugin you need to click on this plugin.
Step 4: On the plugin tab you will find a button called ‘Add New’. To add a new plugin you need to click on this plugin. The button is placed on the top left side of your screen.
Step 5: You will see some featured plugin is there. On the middle right side of your screen, you will see a search box. Type ‘Similar posts’ on the box and install and activate the plugin. I have already installed the plugin.
Step 6: Now click on the setting tab. This tab has very sensitive pieces of information so make sure you proceed with caution.
Step 7: After you click on the settings tab a few sub-tabs will slide down. After activating the plugin a new tab will be here which is ‘Similar Posts’. Click on similar posts.
Step 8: When you are in the general settings of the similar posts tab just change the last option which is ‘Match the current post’s author’ from no to yes.
Step 9: Click on the save settings and this will unable showing related posts by the same author.
Step 10: The third settings options for this plugin is placement. Click on this tab to set where to show the related posts. 
Step 11: Just activate the output after the post from no to yes. This will place the related posts at the end of every blog an author has written.
Step 12: You are all set now just click on save settings one more time to finish displaying related posts by the same author in WordPress.
You can also display related posts by the same author in WordPress by doing coding but I guess the process mentioned on this blog is the easiest one.

WordPress is one of the most used content management systems and its popularity is ever increasing. Thought WordPress is really user-friendly but many users complained about adding GIFs in WordPress. There is three default image size in WordPress but when someone creates a new image size for GIFs, WordPress only saves the first frame of the GIF. On this blog, I will show you how you can add animated GIF is WordPress without any issues.
Step 1: To add an animated GIF in WordPress first you need to go to the backend of your website which is known as wp-admin. To reach the backend you need to add /wp-admin after your website’s URL. For example, if your website’s URL is www.example.com then you need to write www.example.com/wp-admin. This is the universal login page for every WordPress website.
Step 2: Now that you have logged in to your website’s backend you need to make sure one simple thing which is you must log in with your admin id or any user with editing capabilities. There are different users role in WordPress like the admin, editor, author and so on. Only the admin has access over adding or removing new functionality to a WordPress site. To add a privacy policy to your WordPress website you need to add or edit a WordPress post or create a new post. To able to do that you must use your admin login credentials or any user id which has editor access.
Step 3: On your dashboard, you will find a tab called posts. This tab has all the posts you have published or drafted on your WordPress site. Click on the posts tab.
Step 4: You can either create a new post or add the GIF to an existing post. Let’s show you how to add the GIF in a new post.
Step 5: After you click on the add new post you will be taken to a new window where you will find a button called Add Media. Click on add media.
Step 6: You can either select a GIF from the ones you uploaded or you can upload a new one by click on upload files.
Step 7: There is a button at the middle of the page which is select File. Click on select files to upload the GIF from your pc.
Step 8: When the GIF is done uploading pay attention to attachment display settings and select the full size.
Step 9: Just under the attachment display settings you will find a button which says insert into posts. Click on this button to add the GIF to your post.
Step 10: Finally, to check if the GIF is working ok or not click on the preview button. This will show you a preview of the post. If you followed the steps I have described your GIF should work properly.     
GIFs are bigger in size comparing to images and it can slow your website down if you add quite a few. So make sure you add an optimal number of GIFs in your WordPress website.

How to find out which WordPress theme a site is using 0

Suppose you just stumble upon an amazing website and you are curious about what theme or template the website is using. It’s really hard to figure out what theme a website is using unless you have vast knowledge over WordPress themes. But using a few tricks and tips you can easily find out which theme any particular website is using. On this blog, I will show you how you can find out which WordPress theme a site is using.  
Step 1: First you need to open your browser and type visit the website which you want to find out the theme. You can just stumble upon a website so we will just pretend that I just found the website.
Step 2: When you are on the website you just need to copy the website URL from the browsers URL bar.
Step 3:  Now you need to search for a website on google. On the search bar type ‘isitWP’.
Step 4: You need to click on the first link that appears on the search result. You can also type the URL: www.isitwp.com.
Step 5: Now paste the website link on the shown box. 
Step 6: Click on analyze website button.
Step 7: Scroll down and you will find out the theme details.
Step 8:  If you scroll further down you will also find out plugin details as well.
The process is quite easy and there are few other ways you can find out the theme. But I will recommend using the process I have shown you as it will also provide few other valuable insights. 

How to add a background image to WordPress site 0

WordPress websites are known for their high customizability features. Adding a background to your WordPress website can make your website look more aesthetic and more engaging. On this blog, I will show you how you can change the background image of the WordPress website.
Step  1: To add a background image to your WordPress website, first you need to go to your WordPress website’s backend which is known as Wp-admin. To reach the backend you need add /wp-admin after your website’s URL. For example, if your website’s URL is www.example.com you need to write www.example.com/wp-admin.
Step 2: Once you login you need to make sure one thing that you must log in with your admin account. Changing the backend image requires administration permission. So make sure you use you admin ID to log in or use any ID which has admin capabilities assigned. 
Step 3: On your dashboard, you will find a tab called ‘Appearance’. Click on the appearance tab. This tab has all the information about the themes you use on your WordPress website.
Step 4: After you click on Appearance a few other tabs will open up below the appearance tab. You will see a sub-tab called background. Click on background sub-tab.
Step 5: When you click on the background tab you will be asked to select a background image. There is a button called ‘Select Image’. Click on ‘Select Image’ button.
Step 6: Now you are on your image gallery tab and you can select an image which you have already uploaded on your WordPress website.
Step 7: If you want to upload a new image then you need to click on the button beside Media Library which is ‘Upload Files’. Click on upload files.
Step 8: Its time to select the file you want to upload. You need to save the file on your desktop and choose the file clicking on the select file option from the middle of your screen. Click on ‘Select files’
Step 9: Once the file you have chosen done uploading you need to select that image by clicking on choosing image button at the bottom right side of your screen.
Step 10: It is time for positioning the images. It’s quite a simple task just click on the arrow button and a preview will be shown. Select the position which fits best.
Step 11: Just below the image position you will find the image size option. You can keep the original image or make it fit the screen or fill the screen.
Step 12: You can now publish the image by clicking on the publish button which is at the top left side of your screen. This will set the background on your live site.
Setting a background image for your website can be very interesting tasks as it will make your website look more professional or it can also make your website look clumsy. So make sure you choose a background which goes with your overall website contents.

Widgets on WordPress add more functionality and make your WordPress website more user-friendly. There a few areas where you can add widgets in WordPress theme. Adding more widgets can make your website look clumsy and not to mention it can slow your website down. On this blog, I will show you how you can disable unwanted widgets in WordPress.
Step 1: Disabling unwanted widgets in WordPress will make your blog more user-friendly and not to mention it will increase the loading time. To disable unwanted widgets in WordPress, first you need to go to the backend of your WordPress website. To reach the backend you need to add /wp-admin after your website’s URL. Step 7: When you click on the Appearance tab you will be taken to themes. A few more tab will open up below the settings tab. When you activate the plugin a new subtab will appear. The name of the subtab is ‘Disable Widget’. 
Step 8: The new window will show you all the sidebar widgets on your WordPress website just select the widget you want to disable. Stay extra careful as you don’t want to disable any important widgets.
Step 9: Right after you are done choosing widgets just simply click on Save Changes. This will disable the selected widgets from the sidebar.
Step 10: Now you need to click on dashboard widgets if you want to disable the widgets from your dashboard.
Step 11: Again the new window will show you all the dashboard widgets on your WordPress website just select the widget you want to disable.
Step 12: After you are done choosing widgets just simply click on Save Changes. This will disable the selected widgets from the dashboard.
Widgets are important part of your website when used effectively. Too much of any is bad so always make sure you disable the unused widgets.

Step 8: This is the settings for reading time wp. You can set per minutes how must word can your user read. The idea word count is 300 and it is set by default. There are few other settings which are quite self-explanatory. Make sure you go through all the options from the settings.
Step 9: When you are done with the settings click on update options. This will add the reading time to your every WordPress blog post you have on your website.
Step 10: Now just to confirm the estimated reading time has been added to your blog posts click on view site and check your blog posts.

How to restrict editors from editing WordPress pages 0

WordPress is a multi-user platform where you can add different users roles. There are also some pre-defined roles in WordPress like the Admin, editors, authors and so on. These roles have some pre-defined access which is set by WordPress. However, using a plugin you can restrict or expand the permissions for any user roles. On this blog, I will show you how you can restrict editors from editing WordPress pages. 
Step 1: To restrict editors from editing WordPress pages first, you need to go to the backend of your WordPress website. To do that you need to add /wp-admin after your website’s URL. Suppose if your website’s URL is www.example.com then you need to type www.example.com/wp-admin. This is the universal login for every WordPress website.
Step 2: After you log in, you need to make sure you have logged in as admin. As I mentioned earlier there are different user role on WordPress. The admin has access to all type of information and functionalities, including adding and removing ones also. To restrict editors from editing WordPress pages you need to install a plugin so make sure you login with your admin account or any account which has admin access.
Step 3: As I mentioned earlier you need to install a plugin. To do that you need to click on the plugin tab. This tab has all the information about all the plugin you have installed on your WordPress website. To add a new a plugin you need to click on this plugin.
Step 4: On this tab, you will find an option called add new at the top of your screen. To add a new plugin you need to click on Add New button.
Step 5: A new tab will open and you find few featured plugins. On the right side of your screen, you will find a search option. You need to search for the plugin and install it. Type User Capabilities on the search bar and install and activate it.
Step 6: After you activate the plugin you will find a new tab under the Users tab. To make it simply take step by actions so that you don’t get confused. Click on the user tab. This tab has all the information about the users who are currently on your WordPress website.
Step 7: Now you will see that there are few more tabs under the user’s tab. After you activate the plugin you will find a new tab has been added under the Users tab. The new tab is capabilities. You can control all the user capabilities from this tab. Click on the Capabilities tab.
Step 8: You need to select roles first. You will find a section on the right side of your screen from where you can select a role. Select the role ‘Editor’ and click on load.
Step 9: Under the editing capabilities you will find pages options. You need to uncheck edit, edit others. Edit published and edit private. You can also remove the deleting capabilities.
Step 10: When you are done unchecking all the required options just click no save changes. This will update the permissions of editors.

How to embed a Google form in WordPress 0

WordPress is a plugin-based platform where you will find a plugin for everything. WordPress has separate plugins which help you to integrate forms in a WordPress website. But when you need to integrate the same form on different websites Google form is the best. Google forms can be used for different purposes like surveys, lead collections and so on and it can easily be embedded with a WordPress website. On this blog, I will show you how you can embed a Google form in WordPress.
Step 1: We will start from the very beginning so that you understand the whole process. First, let’s open your browser and on the search bar write google forms and hit enter button.
Step 2: You need to click on the second or third link from your search history. Both will take you to Google Forms page. So choose any one of the link.
Step 3: If you click on the second link(which I did) will take you to the official site of google forms. From the page, you need to select Go to Google forms. Click on the go to the google form button.
Step 4: Now you are on your Google forms drive. One thing to remember you must stay logged in on your Gmail account to access your personal Google form page. On this page, you will find all the Google forms you created and you can also build a new form. From this page, all you need to do is select a form.
Step 5: When you open the form on the top right side of your screen you will find a send button. This button is used you want to share your google forms.
Step 6: First you need to select the embed HTML code which is the third send via option and click on copy embed HTML. This will copy the HTML code on your clipboard.
Step 7: Once you copied the code from Google form you need to go the backend of your website. I have my account logged in so I will just click on the dashboard option from the website which will take me to the backend of my WordPress website. You can do that same or you can also go to the backend of your website by adding /wp-admin after your website’s URL. For example, if your website’s URL is www.example.com then you need to write www.example.com/wp-admin. This is the universal login page for every WordPress website. You need to make sure one simple thing which is you must log in with your admin id.
Step 8: Now you need to click on the posts tab. This tab has all the posts you have published on your website. Click on posts tab.
Step 9: Once you click on the posts tab you will be taken to a new window where you will all the posts you have published on your website. This page also has an option on the top which is Add New. Using this button you can add a new post to your website. You can embed the form on any post or you can also create a new one and post it there. Click on add new.
Step 10: All you need to do is now paste the code you copied on the backend text field. This will embed the form on your website.  
Step 11: Click on the preview option to view how the form is embedded on your website.

How to disable the search feature in WordPress 0

It’s always a good idea to add a search feature in WordPress website either its blog site or a simple business website. This search feature is useful when you have a website with multiple pages or its an E-Commerce website. Though many websites owners are shifting to a single-page website which doesn’t need a search feature and it provides an optimal user experience.  On this blog, I will show you how you can disable the search feature in WordPress.
Step 1: To disable the search feature in WordPress website first you need to go to the backend of your website which is known as wp-admin. To reach the backend you need to add /wp-admin after your website’s URL. For example, if your website’s URL is www.example.com then you need to write www.example.com/wp-admin. This is the universal login page for every WordPress website. 
Step 2: Now that you have logged in to your website’s backend you need to make sure one simple thing which is you must log in with your admin id. There are different users role in WordPress like the admin, editor, author and so on. Only the admin has access over adding or removing new functionality to a WordPress site. We will need to install a plugin to disable search feature.
Step 3: As I said we will be installing a plugin to disable search box in WordPress that you first you need to click on the plugin tab. This tab has all the information about the plugins you install on your WordPress website. Click on plugins.
Step 4: On the new tab you will find a button called Add New. To add a new plugin you need to click on this button which is at the top right side of your screen.
Step 5: After you click on the Add New button you will be taken to a new window where you will find a few featured plugins. Now you need to search for a plugin on the search bar. Type Disable Search on the search bar and install and activate the plugin.
Step 6: This plugin doesn’t have any settings to customise. Just activating the plugin will disable the search function. To check if the plugin is working perfectly you need to click on View site. 
Step 7: Now search for any keyword and press enter you will be redirected to 404 error page. If you are redirected to the error page you have been successfully disabled the search function. If you again want to activate the search function just deactivate the plugin.
